Like most of the plants in my garden weigela was another alien for me. I have seen similar types of flower in my native place in Kerala,India, but not exactly same. Anyway I liked it when I saw it first time and thought of planting in my garden. The first one was the variagated weigela through a mail order and it did not survive. Then I got the old fashioned one from Lowes ..wines and roses not one two of them..then a red prince..a java red…another white one white knight weigela..they are all beautiful and super easy to grow. They need some pruning to keep them in nice shape after the flowers in spring. The last one in the picture is a red prince. This has very nice light green foliage, nice contrast to the flowers. However mine had two different color flowers as seen in the picture, the dark red color lasted long.

Hi Raji,
I like them all, but Red Prince is my favorite. So pretty.
